I wish it was at the top of the search postings!

I myself had some severe pain and thought that I was having a heart attack. Went to the ER, they did an EKG, x-rays, blood work, hooked me up to a heart monitor and blood pressure/oxygen monitors for two hours. All the tests cam back great! I was diagnosed with anemia, which led to fatigue and eventually the costochondritis. I am just over a week out and the pain is starting to lessen. Wish I would have seen this before I read all the other articles that made me think I was dying! (Caused me to pretty much have a panic attack that is now haunting me just a little bit.I am a mother of young children and would like to be around for a LONG TIME)Thanks for the post!

Re: What is hustling?

Awesome post! The pain I had was so sharp and took my breath away at first. Turns out I was overexerting on the fly machine at the gym. Got the same prescription of resting and taking Advil.

Re: The Other Chest Pain – Costochondritis

Hi, thank you very much for this post, though I only chanced upon this site under the search term 'Costochondritis'...

It was very comforting reading your post, it's like reading my life story. My chest pains have been around for about 6 years, getting worse with time, and recently, every single time I exercise. Was introduced to this medical condition by the doctor I visited today. It is pretty surprising that I've never ever saw this on the internet, despite all the googling I have done.

Will be doing an ECG tomorrow, well.. just for the sake of it. And I will share your post with my friends soon :)

Anyway, did you receive any treatment in the end?

Re: Passion-Market fit meets Point of Obsession

You're going to be amazing. Make sure to cover the Chargers and Padres, and San Diego deserves a championship more than any other city. And LA doesn't deserve a football team. Develop like the open source master that you are. IGN'll miss you. See you around The City.

Re: Passion-Market fit meets Point of Obsession

Good for you - beautiful wife and dream job, plus you're smooth as hell. I agree with them. No matter how you slice it, a lot of work still needs to be done in order to enable discoverability of data in either case. BUT, the work we're doing at Sencha goes exactly in that direction, and we are making (in my opinion) enormous progress in de-balkanizing the mobile internet (notice how I didn't say web...).

Now it's the turn of browser makers and analytics vendors to step up to the plate, almost every tool out there only supports the concept of "web pages" which is moot in a single page application. The content can still be easily indexed, and can have a perfectly semantic structure, but we need to work on adapting those tools to the new reality.

Re: The Other Chest Pain – Costochondritis

Thanks for putting your article on the web. I have just been diagnosed - last week and had ECG and blood tests beforehand. I am on anti-inflamatory medication but still feel ill. Off to GP this afternoon in case the tabs are causing more probs. Never heard of this condition before but very interesting and supportive to read your story. I am 62 and an asthmatic - think possibly a recent chest infection and cough could have started this off but who knows......

Re: The POS as a Platform

Great job on pointing out these details.

Re: The Other Chest Pain – Costochondritis

HI,

I’ve met the most amazing, most diverse and by far the most intelligent group of people over the last few years.

Re: Rethinking Mobile First

I agree with a lot of the points you've made about HTML vs. App, as well as thinking Web Product vs. Mobile Product. That said, discoverability is a problem, but it's not unsolvable, it just requires a different form of acquisition strategy (including a marketing approach that's more brand focused than direct response).

A quick point though, Luke's Mobile First framework actually works really well in Web/HTML Products too. The concept is really focusing on stripping away the excess, and building a simpler experience. Designing a product for "mobile" helps you do this, even if you're only doing it as a head fake to pare down features or options on a traditional web product.

Re: Rethinking Mobile First

I completely agree with @joewood72.

Furthermore, although the post provides some astute observations (including one on the WebOS platform), with the right promotional strategy a mobile application could be an ideal first foray into the consumer marketplace.

That said, in most cases the unfortunate truth is advertisers are not willing to invest in supporting a mobile initiative as they would for a traditional product launch.
